Several weekends ago, the hubby and I decided to climb a mountain. As a newbie mountain climber, I requested the trail to be on the easier side. And of course, my husband decided to choose a mountain that was not at all easy lol The mountain we climbed was 2760 m! We visited Yatsugatake in the Nagano area and climbed Mt.Iou. It took us about 4.5-5 hours to climb up and as you can see in the photos, near the top, the walking space was quite limited. One slip on the rocks and you’re a goner!
When we got to the top, it was a huge disappointment as we couldn’t see anything! And to top that, it was very windy, cold, and raining as well. Unfortunately, we couldn’t have our lunch at the top, so we decided to whip up a quick miso soup and then headed back down for our lunch.
All in all, it was a fun trip and cannot wait to climb more mountains in Japan. I think my next climbing adventure will be in Hakuba (Nagano again).
On a side note, I hope to post daily ramblings in Japanese/English on my blog 🙂
