I wake up at around 6:40 am, open the curtains, drink some water (lately aojiru – some green fibery drink), prepare breakfast for my husband and once he leaves for work, it’s my time. I eat a peanut butter and maple syrup toast (with coffee..it MUST be coffee) almost every day for breakfast. I look forward to this every single time. I love how the salty peanut butter melts with the sweet maple syrup; its a perfect combination. I look forward to my breakfasts over my lunches or dinners. There’s something about the crunchy, toasted yet soft and fluffy on the inside toast that I love about Japanese toast. I can’t imagine going back to the wonderbread I have waiting for me back home.
